German Startups
Historically Germany has been called the land of poets and thinkers or Das Land der Dichter und Denker. Germany was recognized by the BBC for being the country with the most positive influence in the world three out of the last six years.
In the startup world, Germany is becoming one of the top places in the world for early-stage companies. Germany is a fantastic place to start your business and many early-stage startups are doing so and thriving. For some German startups moving their company to the US is better than staying in Germany. This is usually because they are already extremely successful in Germany and they want to repeat their business model here or because their product is a better fit for the US market than launching in Germany. Coming to NYC from Germany is not an easy process and the entrepreneurs that come over are highly motivated. The visa application is 200 pages long and the process takes four months. The local German community in Manhattan is growing every month and they have created some amazing communities and companies. Here is a quick and easy guide to German startups in NYC.
